Blackstone
Blackstone Culinary 36" Griddle with Hood
Blackstone's top non-built-in griddle: 768 sq in and 60,000 BTU across four zones, on an enclosed cabinet with a pull-out propane tank drawer rather than an open cart. It adds a patented heat-control baffle under the plate, a rear grease system, dual side shelves with a magnetic tool strip and a cutting-board pass-through for scraps. Functionally the same cooking surface as the $549 Iron Forged 36 — the money goes into the base, the baffle and the fit.
Goes to the manufacturer. We earn nothing on this one.
Specifications
Pros
- ✓Enclosed cabinet hides the propane tank and gives dry storage, which no open-cart Blackstone offers
- ✓Heat-control baffle under the plate targets the edge-to-center temperature drop directly
- ✓Dual side shelves with magnetic tool retention make a 36-inch cook workable by one person
- ✓Cutting-board pass-through to a bag holder is a genuinely good scrap-handling idea, not styling
- ✓60,000 BTU is published, unlike most of the Iron Forged line, so it can actually be compared
Cons
- ✗Twice the price of the Iron Forged 36 for the same plate size and zone count
- ✗151 lbs and 65 inches wide — effectively a fixed installation
- ✗Still a one-year warranty at $1,099, where Weber's Slate 36 at similar money carries far longer coverage
- ✗Cabinet doors and the tank drawer are painted steel that will show rust at the edges in a wet climate
- ✗Blackstone's own store lists it backordered as of Sept 2026

More from Blackstone →The four-zone 36-inch Iron Forged, Blackstone's current volume flagship and the direct successor to the Original 36 already in the catalog at $297. Same 768 sq in plate area, but with the Omnivore heat-spreading plate, a hood, an extendable side shelf and the rail accessory system. Against the Culinary 36 at $1,099 it gives up the cabinet base, the pull-out tank drawer and the stainless trim.
Blackstone
Blackstone 28" Griddle with Air Fryer
A 28-inch hooded griddle with two drawers built into the cart base: one live 4-quart air fryer on its own 13,000 BTU burner, one 4-quart warming drawer. The griddle itself is the standard two-zone 34,000 BTU 28-inch plate. The whole point is that fries, wings and tots come off the same propane tank as the burgers instead of going inside to an oven.
Iron Forged is Blackstone's 2025-26 rebuild of the classic 28-inch cart griddle, and this is the hooded two-burner version. The change that matters is the Omnivore griddle plate — a ridged-underside plate that spreads burner heat more evenly than the flat plate on the Original 28 the catalog already lists, which is the single most common complaint about older Blackstones. It also adds a side-shelf accessory rail and a hood the Original 28 at $227 does not have.

Blackstone
Blackstone 22-Inch Tabletop Griddle
The 22-inch tabletop is the best-selling portable griddle in America and the default answer whenever the question comes up about camping, tailgating, or balcony setups. Two independently controlled H-burners give you a real two-zone flat top - eggs and pancakes on low, smash burgers screaming hot on the other side - and 361 sq in is legitimately enough to feed six to eight people, which no portable grate grill this size can match. It screws onto a 1 lb propane canister and hits searing temps fast, though owners recommend the 20 lb tank adapter hose because it burns through the little green bottles quickly. Honest downsides: like every bare-steel Blackstone the cooktop rusts if stored damp, so seasoning and a cover are mandatory; the burners struggle in wind without a shield; the low-end simmer is touchy; and at 32 lbs it's luggable, not light. Quality control complaints (warped tops, sticky regulators) show up in reviews at a low but real rate, and the warranty is only a year. For the price of a nice dinner out, though, nothing else cooks this much food this portably.
