Cooking area is the figure this catalog gets corrected on more than any other, because a maker will advertise a four-digit square-inch number and reach it by counting a warming rack nobody would put a brisket on. Two people keep this site running, and that is the whole staff. There is no office, no test patio, and no rig with a thermocouple in it — nothing on these 53 model pages comes from us lighting a fire. No manufacturer among the 21 brands here pays to be listed, to rank higher in a guide, or to have a complaint softened, and we sell no pellets, charcoal, covers or extended warranties to anyone.
What people write in about
- A specification that disagrees with the manufacturer's current sheet: grate area, temperature range, hopper capacity, burner count, shipping weight.
- A grill that has quietly gone out of production. 11 of the 53 models here are already marked as no longer sold new, each with the cooker that replaced it, and that list always runs a little behind the market.
- A model or a whole line missing from the catalog — or a missing size in one of the 7 product families drawn to scale on the size pages.
- A price that has drifted. Everything here is typical list price rather than a quote, and grills discount hard enough around holiday weekends that a tier is the most an entry can honestly claim.
- Ownership that has changed character: a controller that behaves differently after a firmware push, a firebox rusting through in one season, a griddle top that cupped in the middle.

The message lands in two inboxes and both of us read it. A specification claim gets checked against the maker's own published documentation before the catalog file changes; where neither of us can find a published figure, the field stays blank rather than being filled with a plausible-looking number. Accepted corrections ship in the next catalog refresh, and the update date printed on the page moves when they do.
A missing grill gets added once there is enough published specification to fill a row honestly — a product page with three marketing bullets and no dimensions is not enough to build a comparison on. Reports about how a cooker behaves in use are treated differently from specifications: one bad weekend does not become a listed complaint, but a failure that many separate owners describe the same way does, and it is labelled as owner sentiment rather than passed off as something measured.
